Copyright gives the creators (e.g. of a cartoon or drawing, or of a book) the right to control the way their material is used. Under UK law copyright material available over the Internet is protected in the same way as material in other media.

You should make sure you have got permission from the copyright owner if you want to download, photocopy or further distribute that material. They may let you do this for free, or in some cases offer to licence the use of their work.
